Why am I getting the following error message for my SOAP request?
<Errors>
<ShortMessage>Unsupported verb.</ShortMessage>
<LongMessage>The API verb is not supported in this release..</LongMessage>
<ErrorCode>2</ErrorCode>
<SeverityCode>Error</SeverityCode>
<ErrorClassification>RequestError</ErrorClassification>
</Errors>
Summary
You will see this error if you use the Schema XML server url. For
instance if you use the Schema XML URL to make a request to Sandbox with
https://api.sandbox.ebay.com/ws/api.dll , you will get back an XML Schema
response instead of a SOAP response with ErrorCode 2.
Detailed Description
For SOAP requests you need to use the following URL:
Sandbox:
https://api.sandbox.ebay.com/wsapi?callname=<callName>&siteid=<siteId>&appid=<appId>&version=<version>&routing=default
Production:
https://api.ebay.com/wsapi?callname=<callName>&siteid=<siteId>&appid=<appId>&version=<version>&routing=default
where the paramaters are as follows:
<callName> is the API call that you need to invoke
<siteId> is the numeric value for eBay site to which you target the call
<appId> is your AppID which is a part of your keys
<version> is the compatibility level with which you make the call
Note:
If you use the .NET or the Java SDK, you just need to set the ServerURL. The
SDK will set the parameters for the url automatically.
